Our Services

Three engagements,
each designed for
a particular moment.

We do not offer a single product at varying price points. Each of our three services addresses a different kind of need — a defined question, an ongoing strategic relationship, or a leadership transition.

Our Approach

How we work,
regardless of which engagement you choose.

Each engagement begins with a written scope note — a short document that sets out what will be provided, the timeline, and the fee. Both parties agree this before any work commences. We do not begin reading, writing, or meeting until the scope is settled and the initial payment has cleared.

From there, we read carefully, observe what the materials surface, and respond with candour. We do not tell clients what they want to hear if it is not what we actually observe. We do not round off a difficult observation because it might be uncomfortable to receive.

Our work is conducted with a standing confidentiality obligation. Client names, the nature of their engagements, and the content of our discussions are not shared with third parties, referenced in marketing, or used as introductions.

At the close of each engagement, we ask for written feedback. We read it carefully and act on it where we can.

Service I

Strategic Reading

A focused written engagement in which a senior advisor reviews the materials a client provides — board papers, planning documents, internal memoranda — and returns a considered written response. The reading is private, narrative in form, and intended to surface questions the leadership team may wish to discuss further.

The process takes around three weeks from materials received to delivery of the document. Suitable for organisations that prefer the page over the slide deck and that value a careful, written intervention at a defined moment.

Delivery within three weeks of materials received
Narrative written response — not a presentation
Conducted by a principal advisor
Fully confidential; no external reference

Process

  1. 01Client submits materials with a brief covering note
  2. 02Scope note agreed; fee payable at commencement
  3. 03Advisor reads and prepares written response over ~three weeks
  4. 04Document delivered; short follow-up call available if desired
Engagement fee RM 980

Strategic Reading

Best for: Organisations facing a specific strategic question or decision that would benefit from a careful, external written perspective.

Service II

Quarterly Counsel

A retained relationship in which the advisor accompanies a leadership team through the rhythms of the working year. Each quarter includes a half-day working session, a written commentary on the period's developments, and an open channel for unscheduled conversations of a strategic nature.

The arrangement is well suited to founders, family-held firms, and small partnerships that wish to think alongside an external mind without adopting a more formal advisory structure. Engagements are typically renewed annually.

Half-day working session per quarter
Written commentary after each quarter
Open channel for unscheduled conversations
Consistent relationship with one principal advisor

What each quarter includes

  1. 01Opening written brief from the client on the quarter ahead
  2. 02Half-day working session in Kuala Lumpur or by arrangement
  3. 03Written commentary delivered within ten days of session
  4. 04Open channel for correspondence until next session

Quarterly Counsel

Best for: Founders and leadership teams who want a consistent external perspective through the year, without adopting a formal advisory board structure.

Service III

Successor Preparation Engagement

A six-month engagement supporting the preparation of an incoming chief executive, managing partner, or general manager. The work blends individual conversations with the successor, joint sessions with the outgoing leader, and structured reflection on the cultural and relational dimensions of the transition.

The engagement does not seek to accelerate the handover but to give it space to unfold thoughtfully. Leadership transitions are significant events in the life of an organisation — the cultural and relational work of handing over deserves as much attention as the operational work.

Six-month structured engagement
Individual sessions with the incoming leader
Joint sessions with outgoing and incoming leaders
Written reflections at each stage of the transition

Six-month structure

  1. Months 1–2Individual sessions with successor; initial written reflection
  2. Months 3–4Joint sessions with both leaders; relational and cultural mapping
  3. Months 5–6Consolidation; final written summary and handover notes
Six-month engagement fee RM 4,140

Billed in two equal instalments: at commencement and at the midpoint (month three).

Protocols that apply
across all engagements.

Confidentiality

A standing confidentiality obligation applies to all work, without the need for a separate NDA. Client information is held securely and never referenced externally.

Written scope agreement

Every engagement begins with a written scope note agreed by both parties. Scope changes are discussed and agreed before any additional work proceeds.

Principal-led delivery

The advisor named at commencement leads the work throughout. Engagements are not reassigned to associates without the client's knowledge and agreement.

Conflict of interest review

Before accepting an engagement, we review potential conflicts with existing clients. Where a conflict exists, it is disclosed and discussed before proceeding.

Post-engagement review

At the close of each engagement, we invite written feedback from the client and read it carefully. It informs how we approach future work.
